MEAL Project
Math in Everyday Activities of Latino Families (MEAL) aims to identify existing family routines, practices and strategies in Spanish-speaking or Spanish-English bilingual homes that can be leveraged to improve family math. Conducted as part of the Development & Research in Early Math Network, funded by the Heising Simons Foundation, the MEAL project capitalizes on the demand for building foundational knowledge in early math with culturally and linguistically diverse families, and to encompass a wide range of everyday adult-child interactions, in an effort to forge equitable STEM initiatives and practices.
